Hello, everyone! I watched a Ted Talk about artificial intelligence and ChatGPT today and it made me understand AI more and think more about it. In this summary, I would like to share with you my feelings after watching this speech, and perhaps it can draw your interest in technology!

According to the introduction of artificial intelligence on the Internet, artificial intelligence means "Artificial intelligence (AI), the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligence." Artificial intelligence has always been an aspect of beings that society is paying more attention to these days. The reason is that AI is relevant to all of us, both as computer workers and students. Although many aspects need to be improved in AI, it has certainly made great progress. The most obvious example is the creation of ChatGPT, which can not only be used as a way of searching for information but also for writing emails, translation, coding, and other tasks. As long as people want, it seems that people can intervene in all aspects of our work, study, and other aspects of life. Technology affects people's lives in all sorts of ways. Technology has brought a lot of convenience and progress, but it has also brought some negative effects. When discussing the pros and cons of technological implications for social and cultural life, people need to consider it more carefully.

The speech's title is The Inside Story of ChatGPT's Astonishing Potential, and the speaker was ChatGPT's founder Greg Brockman. He used a live demonstration to show people the role of ChatGPT and its various functions. He also mentioned that this artificial intelligence can bring people unprecedented experiences and advantages, mainly the following points. Firstly, people do not need to carry out complex operations one by one. Instead, people just need to click the button and grant access to parts of the computer to ChatGPT, and it can help people complete everyday tasks like sending messages. Secondly, it has been constantly getting feedback from users to improve it, such as the ability to check some mathematical calculations. Thirdly, ChatGPT can even be a productive work partner for people to work with because it can provide people with efficient and accurate cooperation services. Fourthly, the advantage of this artificial intelligence is that it can make inferences based on existing data and materials, and it provides a result that people want and like. It is one of the important aspects that distinguish it from ordinary artificial intelligence. Finally, Greg Brockman suggested that ChatGPT might make a more substantial difference to people's social lives, such as saving people's and animals' lives through the integration of medical services.

Given Gray's speech and the specific introduction to ChatGPT, I think his description is not objective and critical. As for the advantages, I do agree with most of his opinions about how AI can work for people. For example, ChatGPT can provide a positive contribution to future social life. As he said, the process of developing AI is the process of establishing a connection between humans and artificial intelligence. The development of ChatGPT means that humans are working with AI by trusting, providing feedback, and making further improvements that. The purpose of that is to create a more reliable and trustworthy machine, and I think this view is very correct. But in my opinion, there are obvious problems with AI. For example, ChatGPT can help people carry out daily operations by granting permission; however, it seems that people's privacy is exposed to the network environment in the process of granting permission to their computers. That seems to be a big potential threat. In addition, although ChatGPT is a very efficient work partner, people will rely too much on using it, and their information search and processing capabilities will not be developed. In other words, Artificial intelligence also hinders people's intellectual development, which undoubtedly hurts society.

Technology does provide more convenience for people. Technologies allow people to access information, shop, and communicate anytime and anywhere, such as smartphones, the Internet, and e-commerce. Social media and online platforms also provide people with wider social chances and space. Therefore, the development of these technologies has greatly enriched people's way of life and social interaction. However, the relationship between science and technology and social development is complex and diversified. Although technology has brought many conveniences andadvances, we should also take seriously the problems and challenges it has brought. Through the formulation of appropriate policies and regulations, the strengthening of education and training, and the formulation of moral and ethical codes, we can better balance the benefits and risks of science and technology and social development, so as to achieve sustainable development and social progress.
