The Japanese Folding Screens
SEP 1, 2020 Pencils and watercolor pianting on cardboard. The creation was inspired by Japanese screens in Japan. The most traditional screens in Japan are all about contrast. Contrast of elements, contrast of colors, and contrast of history. I chose the mountains and the sea, the two most representative elements in the natural landscape. The overall meaning is a good view. There are mountains and water and beautiful scenery. One is blue and one is green. For the blue waves I refer to Ukiyo-e paintings. When you zoom in, there is more than one color of the mountain. Besides, the colors of this water painting are mainly blue and white. However, there is also a gradient in the details.
The Bouncy Wonderland
Oct 1, 2022 Quartz sand, acrylic paint, plastic pearls, fake flowers, two pieces of wood, linen canvas, transparent plastic board, beads of various colors, disposable wooden chopsticks, hot glue gun, scraper, all kinds of brush. My inspiration for this work came from a trip to Okinawa with my family. I swam at the resort hotel and lay on a lounge chair by the sea. Perhaps, there was no pollution as the seawater of Ishigaki Island was aqua, and it became more colorful under the setting sun, which was dreamy and natural. The trees and tropical flowers surrounded me.
